Nestled in the Ozark Mountains, Thorncrown Chapel recently placed fourth on the list of the American Institute of Architects top buildings of the twentieth century. And it was here that Phil and Libby became husband and wife 23 years ago.
And it was my honor to be there last week as Phil surprised Libby with a vow renewal in front of their friends and family at the very spot they said “I do” those 23 years before.
How in the world I got so lucky to get to capture these moments for my job I will never know. But I am so thankful that I do! And I’m so thankful to have gotten to serve with Phil and Libby during my tenure at the U.S. Embassy in San Jose, Costa Rica where we first met. They are still working abroad, which is why the emotions were running so high last week. It was not only a surprise vow renewal, but a once-in-a-generation moment getting all of these people together at the same time and place.
Phil and Libby: Thank you for letting me share in this with you. Many, many blessings on the next 23 years! I hope you enjoy this preview of your images.
